Did you know that you can clean oxidized headlights? When we were looking at purchasing new headlights, we didn't realize this. Polycarbonate plastic can be very expensive; who knew?
We didn't have any, so we started looking for other options. It turned out that our headlights had become very dirty. We were able to make these parts look new again with a bit of elbow grease. Masking tape, car wax, and painter's tape are all possible ways to get stuff on your headlights.
There are many things you can clean up, but there is no need to use any commercial products. You only need to use white vinegar, baking soda, or other household products to make the plastic disappear.
Your plastic Tupperware can turn yellow over time. Your plastic headlight covers will also become yellow. The problem can be caused by sunlight, air pollution, or acid rain. We need to clean our car's headlights at least once per year in order to keep them in top shape.
Make sure to pay attention to your headlights when washing your car. Foggy headlights can be restored with a special cleaner. You can clean your car's headlights to make them look new and not foggy.
Toothpaste is gentle and does not cause any damage to the teeth. Toothpaste removes plaque without causing damage to the tooth. Toothpaste is great for headlights, too, as it won't damage the glass in our headlight lenses and removes any buildup.
You will need an old toothbrush, a teaspoon of non-gel white toothpaste, and elbow grease to clean your headlights. Use the toothpaste to coat the toothbrush and then rub it on the headlights in circular motions. You only need a little toothpaste.
Continue to cover the entire headlight. Take off any masking tape residue from the headlight. Use a soft cloth to wipe it clean. Continue this process until you have removed all yellow tinges from the headlight.
You can damage the car wax and polishing compound if you scrub it with toothpaste. After you have finished cleaning, you will need to use glass cleaner to remove any toothpaste left behind. Spray the lens with a spray bottle and wipe it clean with a towel.
You may never need to use anything else to clean your headlight lenses if you know how to use WD40. WD40 was initially designed for missiles that could penetrate cracks and then fill them with oil. This product does the same job here by filling in tiny cracks between your headlights.
You can make your headlights look new again by using a microfiber cloth and two sprays of WD40. Then fold the paper towel in half and spray it with WD40 twice. This is all you need to clean your plastic headlights.
You'll be able to see the headlights looking new again. It is possible to have to do this again every six months because oil can be washed off by rain or other precipitation. Cloudy headlights will be gone forever!
You can also use a homemade tire cleaner while you're using the WD40 to make your tires shine again.
